Registration Deadline Friday!

You will notice something about our entry deadlines; most of the time they are on Friday. We are doing this in an effort to promote deadlines more
efficiently, prevent late registrations, and to develop successful programs.

Most dates and times are set, but this schedule is tentative and can change. For changes and to catch up on all of the youth, adult, and other programs offered by the Russell Recreation Commission, look in the Russell County News or listen to KRSL radio for the latest information.

Build self-confidence, stamina, concentration and self-control through martial arts. Instructor Sandi Stricker, who is a Black Belt, will teach this ancient art that will meet continuously once a week.

Karate for Kids & Adults (All Belts) Tuesdays - 6pm
(all start @ 6pm--Tiny Tigers are finished at 6:45pm, all others are finished at 7:30pm)

Location: 701 Fairway Dr.

Fee: $35 a month

Purchase of a uniform is required -
with Victory Patch $50
without Victory Patch $45

Ten Week Cycle Testing Fee - $40

Camouflage and above students will be required to purchase sparring gear - $75

Open archery is for anyone that has taken the archery clinic through Russell Rec.


This is for ANYONE (you do not have to be a member) ages 9 & up. The gym is supervised on Sunday by Daniel Ogle from 2 pm. to 5 pm.
There is no charge for open gym.

First day for open gym is October 11th!

A program for scholarship assistance is available through the Russell Area Youth Activities Fund. It is their mission to provide funding that allows youth the opportunity to participate in all Russell Recreation programs. Paper forms are no longer available. If you would like to apply for a scholarship you will need to apply online at www.rcacf.net  (click on apply for grant then click on Russell Area Youth Activities Fund). All scholarships must be submitted by the registration deadline of each activity.
