The National Youth Sports
Coaches Association
The National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) is a national coaching certification program for youth sports. Its goal is to teach coaches how to be positive role models, understand a child’s training habits, organize practices, prevent and cure athletic injuries, and learn to teach sport skills.
At least one coach from every youth team must certify through the NYSCA. The Russell Recreation Commission pays the $20.00 registration fee for any coach wishing to be certified. Along with the certification, the coach also receives liability insurance as well as a membership card. Be part of this outstanding program. If you are a coach, sign up for the certification clinic. If you are a parent, ask your child’s coach if he/she is NYSCA certified. Call the RRC office for more information.
